Snowmaggedon

That's what meteorologists are calling the blizzard we are currently experiencing at my house.  This morning, as I lazily strolled out of bed (the powers that be had called us off last night in anticipation of today's storm), there wasn't snow.  There were some flurries, but it was not that bad.  And then the sky opened.  And now, there is roughly 12 inches of snow outside (or more...I'm not sure because I haven't donned my boots to go and measure) and the forecasters say we will have at least 15 hours of more snow.  To me, it looks like what I pictured in my mind when I was reading On the Banks of Plum Creek (I love Laura Ingalls Wilder so, so much).  I haven't ever experienced first hand this kind of blowing snow.  So, it looks like this week is yet another wash for instruction/a chance to get more days to make up at the end of the year/a super fun lazy time at home with the monkeys.  At this point, I'm just glad I thought to pick up more toilet paper when I was at the store on Sunday.
